The Hotel Zone, 22 kilometers (14 miles) long island with white powder beaches and turquoise Caribbean Sea, has 150 hotels, a total of 34,000 rooms, more than 100 world-class restaurants, bars and nightclubs, six golf courses, 22 marinas (for cruises and dive tours), modern shopping malls and handicraft markets.

Cancun recently remodeled airport is located just eight kilometers (5 miles) from the city, five kilometers (3 miles) from the Hotel Zone and 52 kilometers (32 miles) from Playa del Carmen at the Riviera Maya. The air terminal has four platforms and four terminal buildings: the Satellite for international flights and the FBO for private planes, each with its respective platform. There are four waiting rooms, three arrival areas and an official VIP reception room. The access to final boarding areas contains 19 shops, including restaurants, cafeterias and duty free shops.

Cancun’s Convention Center, in the heart of the Hotel Zone is the largest in the Caribbean, with room for 8,000 participants. In addition, more than 20 hotels have meeting room space and quality infrastructure for groups and conventions.

The Cancun police department guarantees for visitors a secure environment to enjoy, they even have bi-lingual division in service for tourism in any need they might have. The airport security also provides you with the same comfort that you've come to expect back at home.

Many hospitals including two major new hospitals have opened downtown, with bi-lingual staff and very top of the line equipment, some even accept USA insurance. Most 4-5 star hotels also offer 24 hours doctor service.

General purified water system in down town Cancun and all hotels also have their own purified water systems.

The electricity is 110 volts AC, the same as in the United States and Canada.

Public transportation system with two urban bus companies (with local government concessions) They have several established routes and run regularly scheduled services along the city’s main avenues and Kukulcan Boulevard, through the Hotel Zone.

There are nearly 4,000 taxis in service in the city and approximately 10,000 drivers. Most of them providing service at the Hotel Zone are bilingual.
